Why I'm running

Education changed my life. Service is how I give back.

Throughout my children's school years, I have volunteered in our schools and community because I have seen how education opens doors and shapes a student's future.

As an MUSD parent and technology professional with more than 20 years of experience, I bring a family's perspective, analytical thinking and collaborative problem-solving. I am running to expand opportunity for every student, support educators and strengthen public education in the community I call home.

A clear plan

01Academic excellence for allExplore this priority

Close achievement and opportunity gaps for students with disabilities and English learners, while expanding strong academics and supporting the safety, wellbeing and success of every student.

Academic excellence means ensuring every student receives the support needed to succeed. I will prioritize measurable progress for students with disabilities and English learners through targeted instruction, timely intervention, inclusive services, and collaboration among educators, specialists, and families.

At the same time, I will work to expand opportunities for all students through advanced coursework, STEM, the arts, college and career pathways, and future-ready learning. Excellence and equity should move forward together.

Safe, welcoming schools are essential to academic success. I will support counseling and wellness services, early intervention, conflict resolution, student belonging, and trusted relationships with adults so students feel safe, connected, and ready to learn.

02Excellent educatorsExplore this priority

Support, respect and retain the teachers and staff who help every student succeed.

Excellent educators are essential to student success. MUSD must continue attracting and retaining highly qualified teachers and staff while providing the resources, professional development, and respectful working environment they need.

I will listen to educators, value their classroom experience, and support collaborative decision-making. My goal is to protect effective classroom staffing, reduce unnecessary administrative burdens, and ensure educators have the tools, training, and support needed to help every student succeed.

03Responsible budgetingExplore this priority

Our schools rely on state and federal funding, local parcel taxes, and grants, while facilities bonds serve a separate purpose. Responsible budgeting means using these funds carefully and planning beyond a single school year.

California increased its main school-funding formula, LCFF, for 2026–27, but MUSD's adoption budget projects lower federal revenue than the previous year. Funding increases in one area do not necessarily cover reductions or rising costs elsewhere. Additional one-time state funding provides support, but cannot be counted on every year.

My goal is a sustainable, balanced budget that protects classroom learning, supports educators, and maintains student services. I will support careful spending decisions, responsible reserves, and existing financial oversight, while pursuing grants and partnerships. Matching ongoing commitments with reliable funding can help prevent sudden cuts and preserve opportunities for students.

04Accountable leadershipExplore this priority

Listen carefully, communicate openly and make transparent, data-informed decisions.

Strong governance requires transparency, careful oversight, and meaningful community participation.

I will ask thoughtful questions, review data and financial information carefully, and listen to students, educators, families, and community members before making decisions. I will support clear goals, measurable progress, and timely public reporting so the community can understand both the district's achievements and the areas that need improvement.

Community endorsements
